Avizafone (Pro-Diazepam) is a water-soluble prodrug of the benzodiazepine derivative diazepam.
pro-Diazepam is metabolised by enzymes in the blood to form the active drug diazepam. It is used mainly as an antidote to poisoning with organophosphate nerve agents.
